Hey Nudies!
How are you and how have you been?
Is it cold, warm or hot over there? Picked up a new hobby (of course I'm biasing you for it to be nudism hehe) ? Are you reading this blog sat on a chair/couch or lying in bed? All in all hoping that you're having tonnes of joy and the warmth of calmness.
So say you've decided to dip your twinkling toes into these waters of nudism. Perhaps after you read it in a blog, article, tapped a vlog, overheard people talking about it, or even (wide eyed) saw someone actually practicing it hehe.
Now here you are, stripped down and all, tooshie waving at the furniture and walls, but suddenly you feel this feeling pulling you back to the fabric, "Oh, someone's watching me". Even though the doors are fully shut, blinds tucked in tight with pegs for extra safety hehe. You wonder to yourself, "What is this creeping feeling threatening to take me back to my old ways, shackled away in the dungeon of shame. Fear not, this debate takes place in the minds of all new nudist, veterans too sometimes. It's the conditioning of our minds, both learned by ourselves and taught. They are the three horsemen. That nude is childish, immoral and insane. Let's look into these.
Childish.
Whenever a child runs across the room or yard naked, no eyebrows are raised. Everyone continues as normal, the world doesn't stop. Because hey, there's nothing much to it, they are understood to be carefree. Then an year or two towards adolescence, a new rule is passed down to them, "You can no longer roam like that, you are now grown". This sticks to the mind that nudity is a stage thing, and since we do not like disappointing authority or seem lesser in the eyes of others, we brand it the same, nude is childish. It becomes the norm.
Immoral.
Well well well, if it isn't the big dirty title that no one would like their name in association with hehe. Now that you're 'grown' and no longer 'childish' , you may ask why the sudden change of rules or even sometimes you don't have to, the reason is freely given. "Nudity is immoral". Authority knows best, you ask no further. "May I be damned if they ever see my knees," you swear to yourself. It becomes the norm.
Insane.
Fully wrapped in fabric you now course the streets, sure of yourself as being grown and morally right. With your head held high, a strange figure is coming your way. You cannot really tell whether their shirt is green or the pants are blue, "Ah, must be the distance," you comfort yourself. Stride by stride, this gap is shortened and slowly your mouth is opened. Not for the good ol' midday yawn, but your jaw hitting the dusty floor. A naked person! (Even I'd be shocked hehe) The pedestrians are in a disarray, some are laughing, some are whistling, some are in the same state as you are. Amidst all these you pick up a conversation, "That's an insane one, probably skipped their meds". You agree with their explanation. It becomes the norm.
Slowly but surely these three become engraved in our minds. They become our truth. Then you try out naturism and it challenges these beliefs. You can clearly tell and want to reap the benefits of the lifestyle, but how to break these chains becomes the big challenge.
The key is in the understanding. Understanding that nudism isn't childish, it is childlike. The same way they are carefree, is the same way that you literally feel free.
Your skin is not immoral, but some people's minds are. Your body is a masterpiece of creation.
Being naked is not insanity, it's a choice to be bold in your colour, size and shape. A way of being grateful to exist, grateful to walk the beautiful earth.
Keep reminding yourself these whenever the doubt comes and with time it will be a thing of the past.
Until next time, bye friends.
